The label was established in 2020 when releasing the first duo album of Lauritz & Isach Skeidsvoll.
Bech & skeidsvoll New Orleans Band - Live at Molde International Jazz Festival
Very happy to release Bech & Skeidsvoll New Orleans Band’s debut album. Recorded Live at Molde International Jazz Festival.
The band was founded in 2013, by trumpeter Leiv Skeidsvoll and trombonist Gunnar Bech. In an effort to create something special, they brought together musicians from both the traditional and contemporary jazz scenes. Inspired by greats like Sidney Bechet, Kid Ory, and Kermit Ruffins, the band combines the rich tradition of New Orleans jazz with unpredictable elements of free jazz, creating space for each member to explore their personal sound and improvise freely.
Martin Heggli Mellem & Lauritz Heitmann Skeidvoll Duo - Free Motion
This duo album features drummer Martin Mellem and Saxophonist Lauritz Skeidsvoll, in a freely improvised session recorded in the autumn of 2023.
The duo have played together for over 10 years in the band Master Oogway, and knows each other very well musically - creating musical landscapes where they both are free to explore and stretch the musical boundaries, and challenge each other.
Lauritz Skeidsvoll & Isach Skeidsvoll Duo - Spirit Without Fire Within
Released in 2020, this marks the first release on Shessvell Records. Isach & Lauritz have played together since they were kids and have developed a fined tuned interplay. This album was recorded in Studio Paradiso in Oslo, in 2019, and features the two brothers in a freely improvised setting, with an urge to create and explore new and interesting, musical landscapes.
