In this section you can read more about some of my projects.
Rapid Light
Rapid Light is a quartet that builds on the years-long collaboration Lauritz has with his brother, pianist Isach Skeidsvoll. They have developed an original and fine-tuned interplay which is well documented on the duo record "Chanting Moon, Dancing sun", recorded live from the Molde International Jazz Festival in 2022. Rapid Light released their first album on Ulträäni Records in 2024, and is now working on their second release!
In this version on Rapid Light, I have brought together two particularly strong voices in Scandinavian jazz: Childhood friend and drummer Rino Sivathas - known for his dynamic range, elegant drive, and strong groove in bands such as Bliss Quintet, and his debut album “Speak Volumes”.
Bassist Christian Meaas Svendsen joined the band in 2026 after i made my move to Bergen - known for his amazing solo work on the double bass, his work with Paal Nilssen-Love, and the band and label Nakama (Nakama Records).
With the help of melodious compositions, great rhythmic drive, and a sincere urge to explore, Rapid Light conjures up a raw and energetic primal force.
