Rapid Light

Lauritz Skeidsvoll's Rapid Light is a new quartet that builds on the years-long collaboration Lauritz has with his brother, pianist Isach Skeidsvoll. They have developed an original and fine-tuned interplay which is well documented on the duo record "Chanting Moon, Dancing sun", recorded live from the Molde International Jazz Festival in 2022 and released on Cleanfeed Records the following year.

In addition to his brother, Skeidsvoll has brought with him two particularly strong voices in Scandinavian jazz: Childhood friend and drummer Rino Sivathas - known for his dynamic range and elegant drive in bands such as Joakim Rainer Trio and Bliss - and bass-extraordinaire Georgia Wartell Collins, who has made a name for herself in the band Juno and her own critically acclaimed Aila Trio. Together they make up a powerful quartet, which with the help of melodious compositions, great rhythmic drive, and a sincere urge to explore, conjures up a raw and energetic primal force.
